Who we are
Green Britain TV is a joint venture inspired by Russ Malkin, the director/producer of Ewan McGregor's Long Way Round series on Apple TV+, and his daughter Emily Malkin, who has an academic and professional background in sustainable development.
About us
After many long discussions about the environmental crisis (a conversation no doubt happening in many family homes across the country), they both agreed that showcasing the positive progress we are making as a nation will hopefully both educate and inspire action from the Great British public.
This is how Green Britain TV was born. With their shared skills and knowledge, Russ and Emily believe they can contribute to turning the tide, by shining a spotlight on companies, organisations and individuals who are going above and beyond to find green solutions in Britain, for a fully sustainable future
Our Criteria
Our stories have gone through a vetting process by our panel. Many of the companies and individuals who we have featured fall under one of the following certification processes (B-Corp, The Planet Mark, Earthshot ….).
Transparency - Our Process
We are aware that our leaning towards telling positive stories puts us in very real danger of greenwashing, avoiding the messy stuff in favour of the light stories. This is NOT what we wish to achieve. With the clear aim of avoiding greenwashing we like to discuss challenges as well as successes in all of our stories. We do this in a safe and supportive way, without shame or judgement. We believe this will make the story more informative and authentic, it will also build brand trust and provide examples to others through an honest discourse about the challenges yet to be overcome and even the mistakes that were made or continue to be made.
